Many of you will be traveling from out of the area to San Luis Obispo for the June Remnants of the Past.  You are in for a treat in a place I call home...

There is so much to do here from hiking in the hills to going to our beaches.

I started about 2 years ago listing my favorite places to eat, shop and play.  Grab a piece of paper and get ready to visit these places while staying in the most beautiful and most recently published "The happiest and friendliest town in the USA".  I will list these places by towns, addresses and include their websites for more information, so let's get started!

Rachel Ashwell

photo

I have been a long time admirer of Rachel Ashwell, her style, simplicity and mostly her continuing desire to find that place of peace and joy in her personal and work life.  For as long as I have followed Rachel's path of success, I have never had the opportunity to visit any of her stores until yesterday.  My friend, Cheryl, and I took a drive up to San Francisco for the opening of her new store.

We arrived just as the sign was being finally set in place....

The table was set beautifully with delicious mini cupcakes!

Then, I started looking around and every corner was lovely...

Friends casually sitting on the comfy sofas and excited for Rachel.  Customers coming in to have a chance to view her beautiful store and chat with Rachel.

And, of course, I needed to get my book signed by Rachel.  A thoroughly enjoyable day!  Please be sure to visit Rachel's new store in San Francisco at

Krys Kirkpatrick

Collage

Our next guest artist at Remnants is Krys Kirkpatrick.  She is a co-founder of the renown company “Bunnies By The Bay” where, along with her sisters, she designs a wonderful line of soft-sculpture and baby gifts.  Krys also creates one of a kind painted and drawn art. Through her charming mixed media cardboard art, watercolors, and adornments she shares her genuine affection for family, friends, nature and childhood.  Her artful vision and talent impart each design with a nod to whimsy and the love of the magic in the everyday.

Please welcome Krys!

Caramia Visick

Collage

Vintage jewelry makes my heart flutter and Caramia Visick of Earth Angels Studios is one of those artists.  Caramia Visick is chic, spunky and just a wee bit sassy…and so are her Hotcakes jewelry designs! Her deliciously chunky necklaces and rings, and her fun candy-like bracelets give a nod to nostalgia, but their style is all today. They are a graciously funky collision of texture and scale befitting fans of both Empire-era décolletage and 1940s Haute Couture.

Welcome Caramia!

Debrina Pratt

Collage

Next incredible artist is Debrina Pratt. Debrina's work has been featured in FOLK and Romantic Country and it has been seen in Where Women Create and Romantic Homes.  She captures magic in vintage bottles, concocts fairy love potions and sweet dreams serum. She shows us mermaids riding atop sea birds, fairies at tea with cupcakes, and sea sprites in party hats.  Debrina uses old photos, altering art and adding millinery flowers, tiny beaded flourishes, Swarovski crystals and wee bits of magic to tell her tales. With a fanciful dose of imagination, her bon bon-like confections beg our appreciation for a gentle and tiny world, filled with sweet sentiments. Jen of Earth Angels Studios is bringing such incredible talent to Remnants.  I am so excited!

Please welcome Debrina Pratt!
