Krys Kirkpatrick

Our next guest artist at Remnants is Krys Kirkpatrick.  She is a co-founder of the renown company “Bunnies By The Bay” where, along with her sisters, she designs a wonderful line of soft-sculpture and baby gifts.  Krys also creates one of a kind painted and drawn art. Through her charming mixed media cardboard art, watercolors, and adornments she shares her genuine affection for family, friends, nature and childhood.  Her artful vision and talent impart each design with a nod to whimsy and the love of the magic in the everyday.

Caramia Visick

Vintage jewelry makes my heart flutter and Caramia Visick of Earth Angels Studios is one of those artists.  Caramia Visick is chic, spunky and just a wee bit sassy…and so are her Hotcakes jewelry designs! Her deliciously chunky necklaces and rings, and her fun candy-like bracelets give a nod to nostalgia, but their style is all today. They are a graciously funky collision of texture and scale befitting fans of both Empire-era décolletage and 1940s Haute Couture.

Debrina Pratt

Next incredible artist is Debrina Pratt. Debrina's work has been featured in FOLK and Romantic Country and it has been seen in Where Women Create and Romantic Homes.  She captures magic in vintage bottles, concocts fairy love potions and sweet dreams serum. She shows us mermaids riding atop sea birds, fairies at tea with cupcakes, and sea sprites in party hats.  Debrina uses old photos, altering art and adding millinery flowers, tiny beaded flourishes, Swarovski crystals and wee bits of magic to tell her tales. With a fanciful dose of imagination, her bon bon-like confections beg our appreciation for a gentle and tiny world, filled with sweet sentiments. Jen of Earth Angels Studios is bringing such incredible talent to Remnants.  I am so excited!

Marie Pendley

Introducing Marie Pendley creator of Derby Blooms.  Marie stitches these festive adornments as home and personal accessories using vintage fabrics and trims.   She maintains a studio in Long Beach, CA and is a regular feature artist on the roster of the Art Girls' Roadshow where she enjoys the company of her sister, and fellow Earth Angels Studios' artist, Melody Elizabeth Doyel.  Marie's work has been featured in FOLK and Romantic Country and seen among the pages of Romantic Homes, Where Women Create, and Country Living magazines.

Lisa Leonard Designs

Every morning when I check my Inbox, I see another name of an incredible artist that Jen O'Connor of Earth Angels Studios is bringing to Remnants.  I am thrilled to announce that Lisa Leonard of Lisa Leonard Designs will be one of these artists.

Lisa Leonard makes incredible hand made, and oh so meaningful jewelry. Earth Angels Studios is proud to showcase her entire "heartfelt" collection in silver and her latest…gold. Earrings, bracelets, cuffs and her well-recognized necklaces bear sweet sentiments of faith, hope, and are a testament to loving and appreciating the small wonders and blessings of everyday life.  Lisa's work brings to the wearer the joy with which it is created.

Letty Worley

Each morning, I eagerly read my emails waiting for Jen O'Connor of Earth Angels Studios to send me  information about the next artist that she is bringing to Remnants of the Past.  This morning I am happy to introduce you to  Letty Worley who is coming all the way from Tennessee!  Letty loves using oddities, bits and pieces of vintage treasures to create the unexpected in her charming interpretations.  Letty makes soft sculpture, purses, and what she calls her "frostings" wearable mohair art.  Letty has created a jewelry collection which willed be rolled out for the first time at our June Remnants.  Letty has been featured in many national magazines to name a few, this months PRIMS, Country Living, Romantic Homes, FOLK and Where Women Create.

Debbee Baxter Thibault

One morning when I woke up at my usual 4:00 AM, I opened up my laptop to check my emails and saw an email from Jen O'Connor.  I thought that can't be "THE" Jen O'Connor of Earth Angels Studios.... I clicked the  email and sure enough it was.

Funny enough I have been meaning to write to you -- Jo was here for our event and there were copies of the current issue and I was of course thinking of you --

I have been looking into doing appearances at several more retail venues where the vintage loot from various dealers is showcased…Would you consider having Earth Angels as the Art Girls' RoadShow appear as a vendor at your event sometime…I know you are vintage and antique only, but had to ask…

Had Jen been reading my mind?  For years, I have dreamed of combining the handmade artists with the vintage.  I feel that someone that loves vintage is more likely to buy something handmade versus new.  I was so excited!  My dream was coming true!  I called Jen and we had a lovely chat and decided that Remnants of the Past would be the perfect place to host an Art Girls' RoadShow and set it up for everyone to come to sunny California on June 1st and 2nd. 

 I will be introducing each of the artists that will be gathered at Remnants and first up is Debbie Baxter Thibault.  I met Debbie for the first time about 14 years ago at my friend's, Eileen Paulin's home in Southern California.  Eileen would gather several talented artists together at her home for dinner.  It was such an inspiring evening. Debbie was no exception.  Debbie is a paper mache artist but not just any paper mache.  Debbie love of paper mache came from a love for old toys at an early age.  The older items seemed to have a soul and a story to tell. What I love is that Debbie creates each item with such love and has become the top artist in her field. Debbie has stood strong in keeping the work here in the USA and she has a very talented staff.  They all work hard at making true works of American Art.  The pieces go out to fine stores and galleries all over the nation.  Debbie and her team create all of their handmade items in Southern California and have been in business for 16 years.

What is very exciting is that Debbie has created a special collection just for Remnants of the Past Show.  Here is a peek at her gorgeous collection.
