Judi of The Dana-Powers House

I just love this woman!

Taking a break to enjoy some time with Judi and Eileen.

I want to introduce you to Miss Judi. After I sold my store, I was throwing the idea around of having a bi-annual vintage show, It had to be in the perfect location. I was talking to my friend, Dianne, and she mentioned that she heard that Judi was having events at her Barn. Judi and I have been friends for a long time so I called her and she said come on by and see if this is what you are envisioning. I drove through these fragrant orchards and stopped in front of this WONDERFUL old barn. I thought....I think this is it. I met Judi and we walked around the property and I said okay this is where I want Remnants to be. Judi said, "There is a slight hitch though..." What would that be?" I said. "Well...there are no bathrooms." I am thinking this is not quite what I had imagined but I loved the location and said, "Let's do it!"

So, I am busily planning away and a couple months later Judi calls and says, "Oh by the way, Ed built some bathrooms on the side of the Barn." I thought...wonderful! I came by and Mr. Ed didn't just build bathrooms, he built a commercial kitchen, a "Cowboy" bathroom and a "French Parisian" ladies room plus a bride's room. All beautifully designed and decorated by Judi. Mr. Ed and Judi are quite the team!

I just love this man!

One thing I love about Judi is that she is so relaxed about everything and makes you feel part of the family. The night before the show, I give a dinner for the vendors and Judi creates this wonderful atmosphere for them with appetizers, dinner and just good old time family time. I really think that the vendors enjoy this time the most.

Then the day of show arrives. Judi is a avid hunter and gatherer. I think she enjoys this time as much as myself. You will see her walking away with all sorts of treasures and a big smile on her face.

I just want to give a big round of applause for Judi for allowing me to have Remnants at her property. I am proud to call this woman my friend. Thank you Judi for helping me make this event so special.

If you ever want to have your wedding at the Dana-Powers House, give Judi a call. My daughter, Devon is getting married there in September. I am so excited!
