Petit Soleil
I am pretty sure that I've shared with you that I used to own a store in San Luis Obispo called Cala. It was across the street from friends of mine John and Dianne that own Petit Soleil, a wonderful bed and breakfast. Dianne would call and say, "Why don't you stop by before you open up and have a cup of coffee." We would sit in their charming dining room and sip on coffee and Dianne would have some scrumptious breakfast treat to munch on while we talked. That was over 6 years ago and now, it is the bed and breakfast of choice on the Central Coast. Their breakfasts and appetizer nights are eagerly anticipated by their guests. They were constantly asked for the recipes for this and that so they decided to write their first cookbook, Petites Recettes, a few years ago. Dianne and John are always creating healthy, interesting and scrumptious recipes. For many of their guests and friends that waited with anticipation, they have released their new cookbook, called Trois. It is filled with creative and delicious recipes. My favorite are the gateaux. They are French cakes that are light sponge cakes filled with filling. Delicious! I had to share this book with you so if you want a copy, you can contact Petit Soleil at 805.549.0321 or even better yet, book your stay there when you come to visit me at the Remnants of the Past Vintage Show. You will never want to stay anywhere else!
