Machtolff's Mercantile

Round Top, Texas Spring 2010

I am excited to introduce you to Remnants newest vendors Richard and Carolyn of Machtolff's Mercantile. Richard and Carolyn regularly show at the famous Marburger Show in Texas and have quite the following. Their collections can range from Stoneware to old polo balls. Here are their answers.

--What is the funniest antique item that you have purchased from an antique show
or flea market? and why?
he funniest item we ever bought was a late 1800's wind up set of dancers
that had the legs of the people figures go in every direction when turned on. Customers
would crack up whenever they would watch it.

2. If you had to leave your home because of a natural disaster, what collection
of yours would you grab first and why?

We would take our collection of 19th century American weather vanes. They
are such a great representation of Americana at that time.

If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and
why?
Our book title would be: "You want how much?"
It seems that the neat things are pricy.

I am looking forward to seeing what Richard and Carolyn will be bringing to Remnants so please welcome the Machtolffs!

xoxo
Judy
