One of the things I love is how old is new and new is old. Melody Elizabeth Doyel embraces the fashion of many eras but mainly with an appealing retro vibe. Melody creates clothing and accessories by repurposing cast off garments, old upholstery, junk shop finds and piles of vintage baubles and jewelry findings that on their own appear only a jumble of possibility. In Melody’s capable hands, and with her limber imagination, a seemingly motley array of textiles emerge as new garments that convey savvy style. I love that the textiles that Melody uses tell a story and in her creative hands blend of this together to be worn in a new way.
