Antiques from France

Most of Remnant's vendors, I find at select flea markets and shows.  When selecting vendors, I curate each vendors design style, inventory and their interaction with customers.  I met Terry of Antiques from France at the Alameda Flea Market.  Terry's collection of French antique items are unique, farmhouse French style and of incredible quality.  Terry and her husband, Michael, are very knowledgeable of what they purchase and always of the highest quality. They also arrange tours to France.  You will love them!

William's Antiks

Meet William of William's Antiks.  I met William and Katy at the Long Beach Flea Market many years ago.  Hot summer day but William and Katy always the gracious couple.  William's knowledge and passion for French antiques is evident when speaking to him.  William is the premier dealer of vintage and restored French Club Chairs on the west coast.  

As you can see, he has quite a love for these spectacular chairs.  Read how William started this love affair here.

William also is quite the purveyor of all items french from club chairs to unique curiosities.  Recently, Williams his wife also started a new venture, Dharma Door USA, selling a line of gorgeous fair trade goods.

Vintage Girl

Whenever I was shopping at the Alameda Flea Market, I would stop by this booth that would always have wonderful foliage but also creative items that had been re-purposed and vintage treasures.  I loved Barbie's infectious personality and thought, she would be a wonderful addition to Remnants.  A little insight on Barbie.

--In case of natural disaster, what would be the first antique collection you would grab?

--If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be?

I have too many four legged furry loved ones to rescue and I wouldn't have time to grab anything else!

-If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be?

"Survivor with a Smile"  I seem to survive all the "ups and downs" and "twists and turns" this business has to offer.  And yet, I feel so very BLESSED to do what I am so passionate about..... IMAGINE, CREATE, INSPIRE AND DREAM!  All with a SMILE at the end of each day!

This is why I think Barbie and Nico are going to be such a wonderful and fun addition to Remnants!  Please welcome Nico and Barbie!

British Route Sign Designs

I remember the first time I met DeWayne of British Route Sign Designs. My husband and I had decided to go to the Alameda Flea Market even though there was a prediction of rain. There were very few vendors and DeWayne was one of them huddle under his tent with rain pouring down but he was so gracious in taking the time to explain the history of the bus rolls I was purchasing. This memory has stuck in my mind and I am thrilled to have him a part of Remnants! Here are his answers to my questions.

--What is the funniest antique item that you have purchased from an antique show or flea market? and why?

Funniest: I bought a tall rolling metal chair from a convalescent home over 5 years ago because I thought it looked industrial. I took the foot rests off to disguise its origins, but that doesn't seem to have worked. Everyone who looks at it immediately thinks of it as something Eleanor would have pushed President Roosevelt around the White House in. Luckily, it's super comfortable because I'll probably have it long enough to use it for its original purpose in my golden years!!!

If you had to leave your home because of a natural disaster, what collection of yours would you grab first and why?

My parents kept all my artwork & special projects from first grade all the way through high school graduation. Over the years, I've edited the collection down to a single cardboard file box. I'd grab that box before anything I've ever purchased because it's irreplaceable and full of memories.

If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

"Untitled: Work in Progress"
