William's Antiks

<span class=

I've known William from the many times I have seen him at different antique shows in California and flea markets. One of the things I admire so much about William, besides wonderful stuff, is his kindness and devotion to his family. Katie and the boys are darling! Here the answers to the questions I posed to William.

--What is the funniest antique item that you have purchased at an antique show or flea market?
--The funniest, as in strangest, item we ever purchased was a wooden leg. It was a prosthetic leg from the late 1800's-1920's, beautifully made with slats of wood, with fully articulating knee and foot. It had the most incredible patina… this was definitely used by someone… but it was made like a work of art.

If you were to write a book about your life, what would be the title?
--A book about our life together would have to be called "Feels Like Home." When William & I first met, we were both struck right away with how very familiar we were to each other. How we both felt so comfortable, so at ease & so much at home in each other's presence. It is the same thing in our business too. Every piece we buy is hand selected by us. A little painting that strikes our fancy, a cafe bowl that fits perfectly in both hands, or a club chair that sits just right. We strive to provide items that people will connect with, things that remind them of a particular place or feeling. Things that feel like home.

I am excited that William from William's Antiks will be joining us for Fall. Please welcome William!

xoxo
